Pumpkins!

I really adore this time of year, when there's a bit of crispness in the air and you can wear a sweater and a light jacket...it just feels fresh and familial to me. And I love fall decor, be it Halloween or Thanksgiving, especially pumpkins. And no one does pumpkins better than Martha. Some of my favorites from years past.

And here is the work of George and I.

Color Contest 2009

The Room for Color Contest is underway over at Apartment Therapy. Below is my favorite entry, "Jessica's Mostly Neutrals", a charming and warm space that's eclectic and full of so much charm. I love the contrast between the smoky grey wall color and all the warm wood tones... not to mention that Chesterfield sofa and the fantastic array of artwork. Hope you win Jessica!

Arrangin'

So sometimes I just like to make a flower arrangement. Nothin fancy, just a little something to brighten up the apartment. For this, I took a few fall colored bunches I got at the grocery store and put them in a small milkglass container, adding some of the leaves from the the roses as well. And thats all it takes.

Touch of Fall

I discovered this lovely table setting over at High Street Market, the blog of Interior Designer Kelly Robson. (She also has a great Etsy shop) It doesn't scream fall, but it evokes that subtle feeling in the decorative elements, the colors and the fabric. Very elegant, but not stuffy. Well done.

And here's another subtle fall display by Eddie Ross. I'm mad for these white pumpkins.

Sumptuous

Grant Gibson's San Francisco apartment, as featured in the NYT. All I can say is classic and sumptuous. (And he did a lot of it on a budget)

Man Shops Globe

There's a new series on Sundance Channel called "Man Shops Globe" and it's great! (At first I was dismayed as I knew we did not get Sundance, but then I discovered we do get On Demand, which has the episodes) It follows Keith Johnson, who has an amazing job as a buyer for Anthropologie, as he goes around the world looking for unique objects. It's educational and fascinating, and I love the mix of geography, culture, home decor and decorative objects...my favorite things!

Back...and Stylin'

So I've been negligent with posting recently, due in part to a freelance gig I've been working on and some issues with spotty internet service.

Just wanted to share an image from a shoot I prop styled for the October issue of Nylon magazine. It was a cool shoot with some fun props, and I'm glad to see it turned out really well. (More images from the story at my website)
