Dressing the Dresser

I recently added a new dresser to my bedroom. It had previously been sitting at the bottom of a staircase in our apartment, but I wanted to give it a new home. I'm not sold on the white (it has been painted at least twice) and I'm thinking about stripping it and seeing what the wood is like underneath. So above the dresser, I've created a little grouping of vintage plates and a vintage Abraham Lincoln sort of plaque.

As for the dresser top, I have some books, a silver tray from Target holding my colognes and a monogrammed flask, a piece of driftwood, candles, my watch, a silver lamp and pencil drawing I did of two trophies. I'm liking this, but I think there is room for improvement. Any suggestions?

looking good! I know it's functional, but I'd nix the clock...

where did you get that lamp?

Yeah the clock is kind of ug, huh? I actually got the lamp from my roommate, who apparently found them (theres a pair) on the street in Williamsburg. I really want to pair them on a credenza.

I'd definitely strip the dresser, it doesn't stand out enough in the room.

And I'd get rid of "Dry" and replace it with my book. :p
