Adele - Rolling In The Deep

This song is fantastic. And the video is a minimalist, dramatic vision.

Music Moment: Matt Morris

I had to share this fantastic new Musician I discovered, Matt Morris. His music is mellow, passionate and a little funky at times (and he use to be a Mouseketeer with JT, Christina, etc) Enjoy his acoustic performance of my favorite song "Bloodline", a nice song to unwind to on a Friday.

Just Cause

So it's not my usual stuff, but I just love some Whitney.

Enjoyable: Kelly returns!

Kelly Clarkson is (finally) back with a new album, and might I say I am definitely LOVING it! This is the Breakaway Kelly I know and love...guitar driven power pop about sticking with a guy who's a big ole' mess, or telling them to kiss off, or asking them whyyawannabringmedown? Nobody does it better than Kelly! Album highlights for me are "Cry" "Don't Let Me Stop You" "I Do Not Hook Up" and off the deluxe edition "The Day We Fell Apart." There are definitely some filler tracks on the album, but when Kelly gets it right....its sooo right.

Enjoyable: Beach House

I recently discovered the band Beach House and their sophomore release Devotion. The duo of Alex Scally and Victoria Legrand produce dreamy, sparse pop tunes that are perfect for quiet, thoughtful evenings and sunny afternoons. This music reminds me of a lonely beach in New England (perhaps because the band hails from Maryland?), or a bunch of eclectic 20-somethings hanging out at a summer house drinking wine and talking literature.

Standout tracks are "Gila" and "Wedding Bell."

Also not to be missed, their first album, the self-titled Beach House.

Enjoyable: Divas

I rediscovered why I love divas this weekend. The intensity and power of their music, the sweet desperation, the ups and downs of love. Uhmmmmm. There is nothing better my friends.

My newest favorites:
"If I Were Your Woman" Gladys Knight & The Pips
"She's Got You" Patsy Cline
"You're All I Need To Get By" Aretha
"Ain't No Way" Aretha
"If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don't Want To Be Right)" Millie Jackson
