Baba
I had a great brunch yesterday at a new restaurant here in Brooklyn called Baba. It's a Mediterranean inspired eatery and grocery with great food (Scrambled Egg Crostini with Feta and Finocchina..YES) a friendly staff, and such great design. I was gawking over the wallpaper and fixtures for most of the meal.

Inspired Dining by Design
The 2010 DIFFA Dining by Design event produced some pretty amazing tables. Check em' out.
This has gotta be my favorite. It was done by students at the New York School of Interior Design, and created entirely out of recyclable or repurposed materials.
Cindy Crawford hosted the event, certainly to push her line of home accessories at J C Penny. Her table actually looks quite nice though, if overtly simple.

Cold Spring
Last week, I spent a day upstate in Cold Spring, NY with my friend Deanna. It was a perfect sunny Spring afternoon for lunch al fresco, browsing antiques and strolling along the Hudson.

Rebirth of Nature
One of the most unique and wildly artisic fashion spreads I have seen in quite some time, with out of control amazing prop styling. 'Rebirth of Nature' from Vogue Homme Japan.

Brownstone Love
Dang this is a cool space. An awesome brownstone in Brooklyn, via DesignSponge. So many great details and design ideas on display here.
And this kitchen is kind of my tall fantasy. And a garden view with giant windows, in NYC!
Leading to this serene bathroom that I adore.

Armory Show 2010
I had the pleasure to attend the 2010 Armory Show this weekend. So much fantastic art was on display! (Not to mention some interesting people watching.) Here are some shots of work that really stood out for me.
My three favorite paintings.
A lot of large-scale, metallic sculptures...
...and sculpture with legs.
Loved these sort of found object installations...
...and these suspended books.
Yarn sculpture piece. Love the textures.
Crazy sculpture of beads and porcelain birds and flowers.

Thinkin' Spring Fashion
It's March, the snow is melting and temperatures appear to be slowly rising, so I'm thinking about Spring and the fashion that comes with it. Lighter jackets, fewer layers a brighter palette (and the return of my boat shoes). Here are some fashion images that I'll be looking to emulate in the coming months.

UnCommon Table
A modern and unexpected idea for a table setting from fashion label Commonwealth Utilities' dinner party. Gold lacquered picnic tables matched with golden tanks, toy soldiers and gold candelabras. It's sophisticated and elegant, but still a little rugged.
