Apartment Chronicles

I'm excited to share a sneak peak of the new apartment G and I will be moving into at the end of the month. We've got the whole 2nd floor of this beauty, a totally renovated rowhouse in Clinton Hill. Expect many more updates to come as I take on the task of organizing, decorating and making this place a real home.

Might just be my favorite new store in NY. Dumbo Brooklyn's Modern Anthology. A perfect selection of manly antiques and collectibles in a beautiful shop.

I had a lovely Saturday in Williamsburg with the BF. Perfect weather, great browsing/shopping and a little quiet time on the waterfront. What could be better? Here's a few pics I snapped on the ole' iPhone.

Unis for Sit & Read

Brooklyn based furniture retailer Sit & Read has collaborated with fashion label Unis on a series of vintage chairs covered in fabric from Unis' Spring collection. What a great concept and some very good looking chairs.

Green Space

There is nothing I envy more as a New Yorker than someone who has a garden/backyard. It's a highly covetable feature as Summer approaches here in NYC. Here are some truly amazing garden spaces, designed by Foras Studio.

Baba

I had a great brunch yesterday at a new restaurant here in Brooklyn called Baba. It's a Mediterranean inspired eatery and grocery with great food (Scrambled Egg Crostini with Feta and Finocchina..YES) a friendly staff, and such great design. I was gawking over the wallpaper and fixtures for most of the meal.

Brownstone Love

Dang this is a cool space. An awesome brownstone in Brooklyn, via DesignSponge. So many great details and design ideas on display here.

And this kitchen is kind of my tall fantasy. And a garden view with giant windows, in NYC!

Brooklyn & Junk

Scenes from my recent outing to Junk (a favorite vintage store) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. They have some great stuff, always changing and the prices are super reasonable.

I have walked past this abandoned building/storefront in Brooklyn many times. The facade is totally weathered and it has so much character.  Finally decided to snap a pic, and I kind of love it.

They had several of these Bicentennial glasses. I'm a little obsessed with Americana, so these are right up my alley. $2.99

Industrial-ish lighting. Very tempted to go back and get one of these. $19.99 each

Nightwood

Nightwood is a really unique business based in Brooklyn that creates reconstructed furniture and textiles made of salvaged materials. Couches, chairs, credenzas, dressers, benches, shelving...all really beautiful work! It's Rough-hewn meets refined.
