I've been absent from the blog for a few weeks now, and in that time I've moved to the new apartment, started decorating, been to Home Depot a dozen times and just got back from a quick trip to South Carolina & Savannah. It was HOT y'all, but I really enjoyed Savannah and took a few iPhone pics.

LA
A few snapshots from my trip to LA. Highlights were the Adele concert, a perfect day in Santa Monica, Griffith Observatory, Dim Sum in Chinatown, driving a few blocks away from the Kodak Theater the day of the Oscars, and (the delicious) Umami Burger.

Headin' to L.A.
I'm headed to L.A. later this week to get some sun (hopefully) and live it up with some of my best friends. I honor of the occasion, I pulled together some spring pieces I'd love to pack with me.

Maison Couturier
A 19th Century French country house disguised as a secluded hotel in tropical Mexico!! Maison Couturier IS my fantasy escape in nearly every detail. Please let me stay there someday.

In the District
I had a wonderful weekend in D.C. with my very good friends Joe and Kelly. We saw a great exhibit at the National Portrait Gallery called "Hide/Seek" about sexuality and gender in portraiture, walked around Georgetown on a perfect Fall day and marveled at how much I like D.C. subway stations. (Between the dim lighting and the concrete vaulted ceilings, it's very dramatic and striking. So different than here in NYC.)

Weekend Escape Pt. II
I'm back from a great long weekend upstate. Here are some of my favorite photos, made even better with the Camerabag app for iPhone.
Lounging on the grass in the village of Skaneateles.
Syracuse's Hall of Languages
Skaneateles Lake. Gorgeous.
Attempting to look cool & collegiate on Syracuse's campus.
The BEST sundae, made with fresh peaches from Doug's Fish Fry in Skaneateles.
Enormous sunflower field near Camillus, NY. (They are totally droopy as it was raining that day.)

Weekend Escape
I'm heading out for a long weekend in Syracuse and the Finger Lakes with the BF. Very much looking forward to some peace and quiet, some kayaking on Skaneateles Lake, seeing where George went to college, and some mellow country driving.

Drawn to Dorset
Great article in the NY Times Style magazine today about Dorset, England, a sleepy bit of coastline on and the English Channel two hours from London. The area is on the cusp of being quickly gentrified, but for now still remains a quiet destination for families and fishermen. Truly gorgeous! And those cliffs, what can you say but wow!
