I really enjoyed reading an article on Artist Roxy Paine in the Sunday Times. He creates giant stainless steel sculptures called Denroids out of industrial piping. They resemble gleaming trees, but upon further inspection the branches are more like nerves and energy stretching outward. Truly beautiful.

Tall Drink of Art: Michael Johansson

I'm a big fan of the work of Swedish Artist Michael Johansson. His work involves objects that have been packed into cubes and rectangles and other odd nooks and shapes. I think it's the juxtaposition of chaos and order I find so appealing here. Great stuff.

Inspired By: Nathan Vincent

My BF recently introduced me to a fantastic artist named Nathan Vincent. Nathan's work explores the idea of creating very masculine objects using methods that are deemed "feminine", like crocheting and sewing, creating work that is almost a contradiction. This is such a clever and interesting way of exploring society's ideas about gender roles. And there's kind of a cheeky element to it as well. I love it!

I want to share an amazing Brooklyn based photographer I discovered named Dalton Rooney. I was browsing an equally amazing site, Print Society, when I stumbled upon his work and was totally smitten. His simple, stark landscapes of Brooklyn and Long Island really evoke such sensitivity and a sense of quiet.
